Petite thanga zari buttas are scattered across the body at measured intervals, giving the Arakku silk small points of light without crowding its surface. The restrained Butta field allows the depth of the colour to remain visible before the design grows progressively more architectural toward the border and mundhanai.

Border: Stately Yaanai motifs are enclosed within ornamental zari arches and layered floral registers along the broad lower border. Jewel-toned purple and deep green accents sharpen the warm classic-gold composition, giving the edge the feeling of a traditional temple procession translated into Kanchipuram silk.

Mundhanai: The pallu moves decisively into long purple zari bands with subtle green detailing and elaborate traditional ornament. The extended coloured registers give the mundhanai greater visual depth than the body, while the gold zari ties the purple, green and Arakku tones into a distinctly temple-inspired composition.

Styling: Continue the Arakku in a tonal blouse for the deepest traditional treatment, or use jewel purple to connect directly to the mundhanai. Deep green offers a classic Kanchi contrast. Antique-gold temple jewellery, restrained emerald or garnet accents, jasmine and a berry, green or metallic clutch complete the palette naturally.

Current Look: Deep burgundy-maroon silk and antique gold have recently returned to the international red carpet through a distinctly South Indian textile lens.
