This is a confirmed Varisaipet composition in pure mulberry silk, with a border built through a sequence of distinct horizontal zari registers rather than a single band. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 16 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. The body is intentionally quiet. Small classic gold zari buttas are spaced across the field, punctuating the mauve silk without interrupting its calmness.

Varisaipet border: The contrast shifts dramatically into deep Karum Pachai, a bottle green so dark it recalls mango leaves after monsoon rain. Against this near-black green ground, the traditional gold zari becomes especially luminous.

The border is organised through strong Kanchipuram registers. Repeating Mayil motifs sit within defined zari panels, separated and framed by fine geometric Reku lines. Petite leaf-like edging sharpens the transitions, while a broad uninterrupted gold register through the centre gives the border weight, brilliance and architectural presence.

Varisaipet: Varisaipet refers to a border built through a sequence of distinct ornamental bands or registers. Here, the Mayil panels, narrow Reku divisions, leaf-like edging and broad plain-gold register together form the layered Varisaipet structure.

Mundhanai: The pallu becomes considerably richer, opening into a dense classic-gold zari ground worked with a fine diamond lattice. Ornamental zari bands and traditional motif registers frame the lattice, creating a surface that feels almost like old temple brass seen through a canopy of dark green leaves.
