Cream White Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Ettukol Saree with Multicolour Korvai Temple Border
Cream White Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Ettukol Saree with Multicolour Korvai Temple Border
For a Golu gathering, Vijayadashami ceremony or temple program, this cream-white Kancheepuram keeps its body beautifully open, punctuated with slender multicolour pattu buttas before meeting a double-sided temple border in pink, green and mustard yellow. The contrast pink pallu brings the composition to a richer gold-lit finish.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 38 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 30 on the loom — to complete.

This is a confirmed Ettukol composition in pure mulberry silk, with a warm cream-white body punctuated by slender handwoven pattu buttas in green, pink and mustard-gold tones. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 30 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: Both sides carry contrasting Korvai temple borders, built from alternating pink, green and mustard-yellow silk sections with classic-gold zari. Sharp temple-point geometry defines the transition into the cream-white body, while larger elongated temple forms enrich the broader border sections.
Pallu: The contrast pink pallu shifts the saree into a richer register, with broad classic-gold zari areas, fine linear detailing and saturated pink silk creating a luminous finish against the quieter cream-white body.
Styling: Keep the blouse clean and let the border supply the colour. A plain deep pink, leaf green or antique-gold blouse would each draw out a different section of the Korvai border. Pair with compact temple jewellery, jasmine around a low braid or bun, and a muted gold or pink potli for ceremonies and evening cultural programs.
The cream-white body and multicolour temple border are especially suited to Navratri and Golu gatherings, Vijayadashami, Deepavali celebrations, Karthigai Deepam, temple programs, weddings, arangetrams, festive occasions, ceremonies, cultural gatherings and special occasions.
