Champagne Gold and Rust Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Korvai Border

A Tamil family in Schaumburg, Illinois, is celebrating a Sashtiabdhapoorthi, and the couple's daughters are choosing sarees that honour the occasion with the right weight of gold.

This Kanjivaram pure silk saree opens in champagne gold — a warm, luminous tone that carries the shimmer of raw gold thread woven into silk — made in the Lightweight Silk tradition with finer 2-ply and 3-ply mulberry silk yarns and a fine zari grid running across the body that gives it the presence of a heavier weave with the ease of a lighter one.
