Burnt Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Aubergine Korvai Elephant Zari Border
Burnt Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Aubergine Korvai Elephant Zari Border
A Diwali mela at a convention centre — shopping, food, and cultural performances — is the perfect stage for a saree this rich. Korvai construction means body and border are woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 20 days on the loom, and cannot be replicated by machine. Handwoven by generations of artisans in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
The radiant burnt orange body is crafted from 100% pure mulberry silk and decorated with elegant gold zari buttas in floral and mango motifs, placed with restraint for a sophisticated balance of colour and shimmer. Explore more from our Korvai Kanchipuram silk saree collection.
The rich aubergine Korvai border showcases majestic elephant motifs, symbolic of wisdom and abundance, surrounded by ornate zari bands with temple architecture and geometric detailing. The grand pallu is completed with densely woven zari panels that highlight the grandeur of authentic Kanchipuram ceremonial silk.
Pair this saree with an aubergine blouse and heirloom temple jewellery for weddings, festive occasions and temple visits — it feels equally at home at a Diwali mela or a wedding reception.
