The body is woven in a glowing burnt-orange pure mulberry silk, its delicate fine-line Oosi Kattam texture giving the surface wonderful depth. Traditional gold zari motifs are scattered across the body.

The real statement is the Rettapet border — richly handwoven with magnificent Mayil (peacock) and horse motifs in gold zari, continuing into a matching pallu.
