This is a confirmed Butta composition in pure mulberry silk, with individually woven figurative motifs placed across the body silk. This particular saree's intricate Gandaberunda and Patchi-in-Flight zari work required approximately 42 days on the loom, considerably longer than typical Butta weaving, reflecting the complexity of the figurative motifs and densely woven pallu. Body, Border and Pallu: The Burnt Orange body provides a warm, luminous ground for the individually woven buttas, alternating between the majestic Gandaberunda and a bird captured in flight rather than relying on a single repeating motif, creating a rare figurative rhythm across the silk. The Deep Forest Green border is equally elaborate, with antique gold zari forming a richly woven figurative band framed by multiple narrow traditional registers and a Deep Magenta edge — the combination of green, gold and magenta creating a beautifully layered transition from the warm orange body. The pallu becomes the most elaborate part of the composition, with long vertical zari panels arranged across the Deep Forest Green silk, filled with repeated traditional motifs and finely detailed ornamental registers; between these densely woven sections, larger figurative buttas appear as focal points, giving the pallu extraordinary depth and rhythm. The Motifs

The Gandaberunda is the visual anchor of this saree. Its elaborate double-headed bird form is painstakingly translated into antique gold zari, with the feathering and internal details carefully articulated within each butta.

Alongside it, the Patchi-in-Flight motif introduces a very different sense of movement. Pairing these two figurative motifs within one saree is an unusually expressive combination, giving the body a distinct narrative quality rather than a conventional repetitive butta treatment.

Styling: Pair it with a Deep Forest Green blouse to echo the border and allow the Gandaberunda and Patchi zari buttas to remain the focal point. A narrow Deep Magenta piping detail can pick up the edge of the border beautifully.
