The Butta Edit·Sahana
Bottle Green and Deep Maroon Pure Kanchipuram Silk Saree with Peacock and Elephant Border
Bottle Green and Deep Maroon Pure Kanchipuram Silk Saree with Peacock and Elephant Border
Pure Kanchipuram Silk in the green of a rain-fed grove, bordered by deep Arakku-maroon reminiscent of ripe pomegranate skin. Slender Oosi Vaanam lines travel down the bottle-green body, punctuated by delicate woven buttas. Along the maroon border, stately Yaanai and proud Mayil stand in alternating ornamental bands; the pallu opens into a luminous field of intricate zari-patterned weaving. A celebration of colour, line and temple-inspired motifs.
❖ Woven on traditional handlooms by artisan families in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, where generations of weaving knowledge shape every saree. Approximately 16 active days on the loom, followed by careful finishing.
