Blush Rose Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Korvai Weave and Deep Aubergine Border

Blush Rose Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Korvai Weave and Deep Aubergine Border

Draped for a Retirement felicitation for a community elder, this blush rose pure silk Kanchipuram saree is handwoven in the traditional Korvai style. Body and border woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 45 days on the loom, and cannot be replicated by machine. Our weaver families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district bring this saree to life on the loom. Read our story.

Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. Every saree is made to order. 45 days pass between dyeing the silk and the finished weave, roughly 20 of it spent on the loom.

The Korvai body in blush rose — a soft blush-rose body, scattered with delicately handwoven gold zari buttas that bring a quiet glow to the silk, in pure mulberry silk.

The border is a dramatic deep-aubergine Korvai border, separately woven and skillfully interlocked with the body using the traditional Korvai technique — densely worked in gleaming gold zari with large traditional floral medallions, framed by fine geometric, leaf and heritage bands, with subtle green and rust accents adding another layer of richness, completed with a deep-aubergine pallu continuing the floral medallions and heritage banding of the border, with the same subtle green and rust accents.

Handwoven by skilled artisan families in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, using pure mulberry silk and traditional handloom techniques, this saree is perfect for weddings, festive celebrations and statement occasions.

The combination is gorgeous — powdery blush rose against deep aubergine and old-gold zari, soft on the body and magnificently detailed at the border. An elegant Korvai with a truly statement border.

Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m self-colour piece, with complimentary tailoring through August 27 ($30 value). See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
