Blush Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Zari Kattam & Rettapet Border
Blush Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Zari Kattam & Rettapet Border
A Kuchipudi or Odissi dance recital by a visiting artist from India calls for a saree that carries quiet ceremony. Fine zari threads intersect across the pure mulberry silk body to form a luminous grid — the signature Zari Kattam weave — scattered with gold zari buttas for gentle brilliance. Each saree takes 42 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. This saree is handwoven by our partner weaver families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story.
The body is a graceful blush pink self-colour Zari Kattam weave in pure mulberry silk, its fine zari threads forming a luminous grid across the drape, scattered with gold zari buttas. This is a signature Zari Kattam construction, prized for its fine grid-like shimmer.
The border is woven in the Rettapet construction — twin parallel border lines create a balanced layered edge — richly detailed with traditional floral zari motifs, lending this pure silk Kanchipuram the unmistakable elegance of a classic Kanchipuram silk. The pallu continues the same zari detailing in a fuller sweep.
Comfortable to drape and effortless to wear, this saree is perfect for weddings, engagement ceremonies, Seemantham, Varalakshmi Vratham, Navaratri celebrations, temple visits, and heirloom gifting. Pair with a solid rose or antique gold silk blouse and delicate gold jewellery — jhumkas and a slim vanki — for a timeless, elegant finish.
