Structured as a classic Butta composition, this pure mulberry silk Kanjipuram features individually spaced paisley-shaped gold zari buttas woven across a deep Kathiripoo aubergine-purple body. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. Border: Warm rust-red contrast silk carries a broad classic-gold zari band of repeated figurative bird-and-floral style panels, framed by fine floral and geometric supporting registers.

Pallu: The rust-copper contrast pallu is substantially richer, with a dense classic-gold zari diamond lattice across the principal field, repeated circular floral-style medallions, large paisley-shaped forms and several fine parallel zari registers.

Styling: Pair the aubergine body with a plain rust-red or antique-gold blouse, compact temple-style earrings and a single substantial bangle or cuff. A centre-parted low bun with jasmine keeps the treatment traditional. For an evening reception, a muted copper potli will echo the pallu without competing with the purple silk.
