Aubergine Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Kili Butta Varisaipet Border
Aubergine Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Kili Butta Varisaipet Border
For an IACA (Indian American Cultural Association) annual banquet, this saree brings regal presence — woven in the Varisaipet style, a traditional multi-band border structure with repeated woven lines that layers the edge in rich gold zari, as we explore in our Varisaipet weave story. Woven on family looms in Kunnam village, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, each saree takes close to a week on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine.
The body is woven in a regal aubergine pure mulberry silk, scattered with elegant Kili (parrot) buttas in gold zari. Explore more from our Kanchipuram Pure Silks collection.
The broad traditional gold zari Varisaipet border showcases layered woven bands with intricate detailing, echoed again in the rich gold zari pallu, making this an heirloom-worthy choice for celebrations.
This saree suits weddings, cultural galas, and special occasions where refined heirloom elegance is preferred. Pair it with an aubergine or gold blouse, and gold jewellery to complement the parrot buttas.
