This is a confirmed Varisaipet composition in pure mulberry silk, with a border built through a sequence of distinct horizontal zari registers rather than a single band. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 16 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. The body is comparatively restrained. Petite classic gold zari buttas are placed with measured spacing across the red field, including stylised bird-like forms and compact floral or chakram-inspired motifs. Their lightness keeps the Arakku colour dominant and allows the richly developed border to remain the visual focus.

Varisaipet border: The lower edge develops through multiple horizontal zari registers. At the centre sits a broad Yaanai band, with repeated elephants woven into individual gold-zari compartments.

Fine Reku-style lines separate the principal register from narrower geometric and floral bands, while a small serrated muggu-style temple edge introduces additional definition. A broad plain-gold zari register gives the lower border weight and brilliance.
