Aqua Ice Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Vairaoosi Saree with Gold Zari Figural Motifs and Green Selvedge
Aqua Ice Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Vairaoosi Saree with Gold Zari Figural Motifs and Green Selvedge
Aqua Ice Blue gives this handwoven pure silk Kanjivaram saree an exceptionally fresh character, moving between pale turquoise, icy blue and a softly luminous aqua as the silk catches the light. The body is woven in the Vairaoosi tradition, where fine continuous parallel zari lines travel in one direction through the silk and create a subtle directional shimmer.
❖ Every saree is made to order. 45 days pass between dyeing the silk and the finished weave, roughly 20 of it spent on the loom.

This is a confirmed Vairaoosi composition in pure mulberry silk, with fine needle-like zari lines woven continuously across the body to create a delicate all-over shimmer. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 18 to 22 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
Body, Border and Pallu: Traditional handwoven gold zari motifs appear selectively across the Aqua Ice Blue field, creating points of ornament without interrupting the openness of the Vairaoosi body, while smaller zari accents add another layer of detail. A fine gold border and narrow fresh green selvedge finish the edge with an unexpectedly crisp colour note, and the pallu develops into a far richer metallic composition, with broad pale-gold zari weaving creating a luminous field filled with fine geometry, long ornamental registers and repeated traditional figural details. Explore the Vairaoosi collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.
Styling: Pair it with Aqua Ice Blue for an elegant tonal drape, fresh green to echo the selvedge, or antique gold for a more ceremonial finish. Pearls, temple-inspired gold jewellery or restrained antique pieces all work naturally with this palette. The cool colour makes it especially striking for daytime weddings, temple occasions and festive gatherings.
