Blackberry Plum Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Zari Kattam Saree with Magenta Elephant Border
Blackberry Plum Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Zari Kattam Saree with Magenta Elephant Border
Deep blackberry-plum silk carries a fine gold Zari Kattam grid, scattered with small buttas that surface as the light shifts across the weave. This Kanjivaram's magenta-purple border rises boldly, framing a row of woven elephants among gold ornamental bands. The pallu continues in the same magenta, opening into a dense gold diamond-lattice field bordered by fine vertical panels.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree spent roughly 16 active days on the loom, in addition to dyeing, threading and finishing.

Border: The broad magenta-purple border uses framed gold zari registers, including a clearly visible elephant row, smaller ornamental motifs and fine bands. The richly filled sections give the edge definition when the pleats are gathered.
Pallu: The magenta pallu opens into an extensive gold diamond-lattice field. A richly patterned vertical side register and broad ornamented edge balance the geometric centre without repeating the relatively open checked body.
Styling: A matching magenta blouse would emphasise the colour contrast; a plain deep plum blouse gives the gold border more space. Consider antique gold jhumkas and a restrained necklace, with the pallu shown across one shoulder to reveal the geometric field.
