Arakku Red and Bottle Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Floral Butta and Pillayar Reku Korvai Border
Arakku Red and Bottle Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Floral Butta and Pillayar Reku Korvai Border
At a Seemantham celebrated in the family home, this arakku red lightweight Kanjeevaram arrives as the saree chosen for that afternoon — carrying its colour with the kind of quiet authority that does not compete with the occasion but completes it. This saree is woven in the Korvai tradition using finer 2-ply and 3-ply mulberry silk yarns — lighter weight, easier movement, full Kanchipuram craftsmanship.
The body is arakku red silk with Floral Butta in radial gold zari across the full length. The Korvai construction joins body and border structurally on the loom. The border is bottle green silk, opening with the Pillayar Reku at the transition point — the sacred Ganesha motif in gold zari. The pallu carries the bottle green ground with Varisaipet banding, the arakku red and bottle green combination one of Kanchipuram's most enduring ceremonial contrasts.
