Warm Ivory Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Multicolour Gandaberunda & Yazhi Buttas

Warm Ivory Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Multicolour Gandaberunda & Yazhi Buttas

A beautifully light-filled vintage Kanchipuram, woven on a warm ivory ground and animated with tiny fragments of colour. The body carries Gandaberunda and Yazhi buttas worked in silk thread rather than a single uniform tone. Lavender, purple, magenta and terracotta appear individually across the silk, giving each motif its own small presence.

❖ Woven by hand in Kanchipuram using certified pure silk, by artisans continuing a centuries-old weaving tradition that every purchase helps sustain.

The contrast brings to mind jasmine, tender mango leaves and the coloured pigments of old temple decoration. The effect is playful from a distance and remarkably detailed when viewed closely.

The border is composed with Pillayar Reku detailing alongside floral arches, creating a fine architectural frame around the light body.

The pallu becomes much richer. Zari panels carry a handwoven elephant procession, accompanied by a dense grid lattice of zari work. Against the mango-leaf green and warm gold, the procession has the ceremonial depth associated with older Kanchipuram pallus.

A distinctive silk for Navratri gatherings, Diwali celebrations, temple ceremonies, weddings and special cultural occasions.
