Vermilion Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Butta Saree with Petite Floral Zari Buttas

Vermilion Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Butta Saree with Petite Floral Zari Buttas

Vermilion red meets burnished copper gold in a combination that feels warm rather than sharp. The silk sections hold a softer glow, while the fine zari work catches light in smaller flashes across the body before becoming denser in the pallu.

❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree spent roughly 16 active days on the loom, in addition to dyeing, threading and finishing.

Woven as a Butta Kanchipuram, the body uses petite floral zari buttas as measured points of light across the vermilion silk. Broad silk-and-zari registers deepen the colour without replacing the body’s clean field. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: Burnished copper-gold silk and zari border treatment with a restrained red edge.

Pallu: Rich vermilion-red pallu with a dense gold zari lattice, framed by broad floral-vine and geometric zari registers.

Styling: A rust, copper or deep red blouse will keep the palette warm and continuous. Choose antique-gold jewellery rather than high-shine pieces, and let the pallu fall open over the shoulder so its denser zari work becomes the main visual finish.

Occasion: A strong choice for Vijayadashami, Deepavali, festive dinners, wedding ceremonies, receptions and cultural gatherings.

Frequently bought together

What makes the body of this saree a Butta weave?
The body is punctuated by individually spaced floral zari buttas rather than covered by one continuous pattern, allowing the vermilion silk to remain visually prominent.
Are the floral buttas large or closely packed?
They are petite and spaced, so the gold appears as small points across the red body instead of creating a heavily patterned surface.
How does the copper-gold silk change the colour of the saree?
It warms the vermilion red and gives the border and pallu a burnished glow. Under softer light the copper tone looks deeper; under brighter light the zari reads more golden.
Can I request a blouse in a contrasting colour?
Yes. Idam Living can customize blouse stitching after purchase. A rust, deep red or antique-gold-toned blouse can be considered depending on the look you want.
Are small variations in the weave normal?
Yes. A handwoven Kanchipuram may show slight variation in tension, yarn joins or motif placement. These are normal handloom characteristics; actual damage, stains or significant defects are treated separately during quality control.
