Turquoise Blue and Vermilion Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Kanchi Kattam Saree with Indigo Gold Border
Turquoise Blue and Vermilion Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Kanchi Kattam Saree with Indigo Gold Border
Turquoise like the clearest temple-tank water, vermilion like a fresh kumkum mark. Together they form little squares of colour that appear to dance against the cool indigo of a richly bordered Kanchipuram.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree spent roughly 32 active days on the loom, in addition to dyeing, threading and finishing.

The Kanchi Kattam body pairs electric turquoise with warm vermilion red. Where the two colours cross, quieter grey-blue passages settle between the saturated squares, giving this handwoven silk its moving, almost musical geometry. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 32 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A deep indigo-purple border draws a strong line beneath the bright checks. Its broad gold field is worked in closely ordered zigzag patterns, with a fine floral register softening the meeting of the gold and blue silk.
Pallu: The pallu continues in deep indigo-purple, traced with slender, parallel gold lines. Wider gold woven bands and patterned edges echo the border, so the colour-blocked body gives way to a calmer, luminous ending.
Styling: For an evening gathering, pair the saree with a plain vermilion silk blouse and brushed-gold earrings. A turquoise blouse creates a more playful colour story. Wear the pallu slightly open to show its vertical gold lines, with hair swept into a low bun.
