Turmeric Yellow Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Butta Saree with Kamalam Border & Twin Yazhi Pallu

Turmeric Yellow Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Butta Saree with Kamalam Border & Twin Yazhi Pallu

A vintage Kanchipuram built around the Kamalam. Against a radiant turmeric-yellow body, finely rendered lotus buttas appear in zari, each one detailed enough to be read as a miniature motif rather than a simple dot of gold.

❖ This saree reflects 16 days on the loom and generations of weaving heritage from Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu: certified pure silk, handwoven by artisan families whose work sustains their village.

The border takes the lotus to an entirely different scale. An oversized Kamalam is woven with intricate petals, leaves and surrounding foliage, its form enlarged so the individual zari details remain visible. Paisleys are arranged around the floral composition, adding another layer of traditional ornament.

The pallu is exceptionally detailed. Two Yazhis appear facing one another as though forming a ceremonial throne. Around them, the oversized lotus, foliage and zari paisleys return in carefully sequenced panels, deliberately echoing the border so that the entire saree reads as one complete design story.

The brightness of turmeric silk against deep contrast and temple-gold zari gives this piece the unmistakable presence of a vintage Kanchipuram.

Beautiful for Diwali, Karthigai Deepam, temple ceremonies, wedding celebrations and other special cultural occasions.

The border enlarges the lotus dramatically and fills it with petal, leaf and foliage detailing, with zari paisleys arranged around the floral composition.
What is featured on the pallu?
The pallu includes two facing Yazhis that appear almost like a ceremonial throne, together with oversized lotus forms, foliage and zari paisleys that repeat the border vocabulary.
How long does a Butta Kanchipuram like this take to weave?
A Butta saree of this type takes approximately 16 days on the loom.
Does the saree include a matching blouse piece?
