Tender Leaf Green & Navy Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Saree with Zari Kamalam Buttas and Peacock Border
Tender Leaf Green & Navy Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Saree with Zari Kamalam Buttas and Peacock Border
There is a wonderful freshness to this Kanchipuram silk, its luminous green recalling the first tender leaves of a banana plant opening in the morning light. Neither a conventional emerald nor a quiet pastel, the colour carries a beautiful yellow-green radiance, full of movement and life.
❖ Woven in Kanchipuram using Silk Mark certified pure silk, by artisan weaver families whose craft has been handed down through generations.
Across the body, delicate gold zari Kamalam buttas appear at measured intervals, little lotus-inspired medallions catching the light against the brilliant green silk. Their restrained placement allows the colour to remain the centre of attention, while introducing the warmth of traditional Kanchipuram ornament.
The border creates a magnificent contrast in deep navy purple, rich and regal against the freshness of the body. Beautifully woven gold zari carries elephants and peacocks in a traditional procession, alongside intricate Diamond Petti and Vanki Pet detailing. Every ornamental band adds depth to the border, creating a striking frame for the bright green silk.
The pallu is a richly worked composition of traditional zari. Repeating diamond arrangements, beautifully detailed peacock bands and closely woven gold motifs create a densely ornamented finish, with the deep purple ground lending extraordinary richness to the metalwork.
It is the contrast that makes this saree so memorable: tender leaf green and deep violet, freshness and tradition, delicacy and splendour. A Kanchipuram full of colour and character, woven with the enduring vocabulary of temple borders and ornamental silk.
Styling note: Lovely with a deep-purple silk blouse or a warm antique-gold blouse. An especially beautiful choice for Diwali gatherings, temple festivities, celebratory occasions and wedding functions.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m running blouse piece. See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
