Temple Vermillion Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Butta Saree with Gold Zari Border

Temple Vermillion Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Butta Saree with Gold Zari Border

Temple vermillion red has a festive, ceremonial warmth that suits Kanchipuram silk beautifully. Petite zari motifs keep the body light, while stacked zari registers and a richly worked pallu bring a more ceremonial finish.

❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree spent roughly 14 active days on the loom, in addition to dyeing, threading and finishing.

Woven in the Butta tradition, the temple-vermillion-red body carries petite zari motifs at measured intervals, leaving enough open silk for the colour itself to remain expressive. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 14 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: Stacked handwoven gold-zari registers frame the body, combining broad metallic fields with finer ornamental bands for a layered traditional finish.

Pallu: The pallu is densely worked in gold zari with a close geometric field and ornamental registers, creating a luminous statement as it falls over the shoulder.

Styling: Keep jewellery warm and traditional. Antique-gold jhumkas, a low braid, red glass bangles and soft warm makeup work naturally with the palette. It is a joyful choice for Navratri, Deepavali, weddings, festive lunches and cultural gatherings.
