Sunset Orange and Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Kanchi Kattam Saree with Forest Green Pallu
Sunset Orange and Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Kanchi Kattam Saree with Forest Green Pallu
Here the warmth of a setting sun meets the coolness of leaves after rain. Brilliant orange, rose pink and violet move through the silk in measured Kanchi Kattam checks, before the saree settles into the deep stillness of forest green.
❖ 28 days of loom work went into this saree, handwoven in Kanchipuram by generations of artisan weaver families using certified pure silk.

The Kanchi Kattam body brings together large blocks of orange, pink and rich violet, their edges softened by the natural lustre of interwoven silk. The checks feel bold yet composed, with narrow linear accents visible within the arrangement. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 28 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree.
Border: The deeper forest-green edge is lightly traced with slim gold-toned woven stripes and small contrasting lines where the coloured field turns into the border. The green grounds the brightness and gives the saree its unmistakably South Indian palette.
Pallu: The forest-green pallu takes on a closely ordered field of fine yellow-gold lines, with a more densely striped rectangular panel and additional broad and fine ruled sections. This measured geometry makes a beautiful foil to the warm multicolour body.
Styling: Keep the blouse plain in forest green or choose soft rose to pick up one of the checked shades. A single pair of antique-gold earrings and a loosely pinned braid will balance the brightness. For a more contemporary drape, let the ordered green pallu fall long.
Appropriate for Diwali get-togethers, family ceremonies and community cultural evenings.
