Soft Blush Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Butta Saree with Ivory Zari Border

Soft Blush Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Butta Saree with Ivory Zari Border

Soft blush pink sits against creamy ivory with the quietness of rose petals beside unbleached silk. Petite Mayil Chakram zari buttas keep the body refined, while the contrast border gathers more gold toward an ivory pallu that feels almost architectural in its repeated bands and fine lattice work.

❖ 16 days of loom work went into this saree, handwoven in Kanchipuram by generations of artisan weaver families using certified pure silk.

Woven in the Butta tradition, the soft blush pink body is kept deliberately open so the small handwoven Mayil Chakram zari buttas can punctuate the silk without overwhelming it. The ivory-cream contrast border and pallu bring a different visual density through their richer zari work. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: Ivory-cream contrast border with warm gold zari bands and ornate traditional woven motifs. The warm zari gives the pale cream edge a softly burnished finish against the pastel body.

Pallu: Ivory-cream pallu with dense ornamental zari work and a detailed grid-lattice field. It is intentionally more detailed than the body, creating a luminous, ornate finish over the shoulder.

Styling: Choose an ivory blouse for a soft ceremonial look, or stay with blush pink for a seamless contemporary drape. Pastel French-knot embroidery can be added in tiny clusters along the sleeves, perhaps with muted gold thread between them. Finish with pearl drops, a sleek bun or softly pinned flowers.

Slight color variations due to screen and lighting; daylight photos/videos available on request.

What gives this Butta saree its delicate character?
The body uses small Mayil Chakram zari buttas placed with generous space around them. Their scale allows the soft blush-pink silk to remain the dominant visual impression.
What makes the pallu the highlight of this saree?
The ivory-cream pallu is much more densely worked than the body, with ornate zari registers and an intricate grid-lattice field. The shift from open pastel silk to concentrated gold creates a strong but graceful finish over the shoulder.
Would this blush-pink saree work for a wedding reception?
Yes. Its pastel body keeps the look soft, while the ivory-and-gold pallu gives it enough formality for receptions, engagements and other special occasions. It also works beautifully for festive lunches and cultural gatherings.
How can the blouse be embroidered without overwhelming the saree?
Keep the embroidery fine and localized. Pastel French knots around the neckline or sleeve edge in blush, ivory and muted gold can echo the saree’s small buttas while leaving the zari pallu visually dominant.
Why might the colour look slightly different in different photographs?
Pure silk responds strongly to lighting and angle, especially in pale pastel shades. Screen settings and indoor light can also shift the apparent pink or cream slightly, so daylight photos or video can be useful when you want a closer colour reference.
