Sindoor Red and Peacock Green Handwoven Lightweight Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree
Sindoor Red and Peacock Green Handwoven Lightweight Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree
The body holds the colour of freshly ground sindoor softened by a warm, copper-red glow, between vermilion, terracotta and sunset coral. Small handwoven gold-zari buttas punctuate the silk at unhurried intervals; the lighter weave keeps the broad field quietly luminous.
A strong peacock-green contrast border carries dense, traditional gold-zari foliage and ornamental bands, with a second narrow row of repeating gold geometries closer to the edge. The green is deep enough to appear forest-toned beside the warm red.
A grand peacock-green traditional Seer pallu, woven with lengthwise gold-zari lines, a broad densely worked floral-architectural panel, and fine decorative edging.
Woven by hand in a lighter, fluid pure silk Kanchipuram construction, this saree preserves the expressive traditional handwoven zari vocabulary of Kanchipuram. The lighter feel makes the drape especially wearable while the silk retains its characteristic lustre and poise.
Styling: A peacock-green or antique-gold brocade silk blouse, perhaps with a neat high neck and bracelet sleeves; temple jewellery or gold studs finish the look.
Wear it to: Diwali pujas, festive weddings, temple visits, housewarmings, and family ceremonies.
