Royal Purple Pure Silk Kancheepuram Varisaipet Saree with Mayil & Yazhi Procession Pallu

Royal Purple Pure Silk Kancheepuram Varisaipet Saree with Mayil & Yazhi Procession Pallu

A saturated Royal Purple Varisaipet with the grand motif vocabulary of vintage Kanchipuram. Across the silk, ornate zari Mayil and Yazhi forms are placed in a measured array, giving the body a stately rhythm while allowing the purple ground to remain beautifully visible.

❖ This piece took 16 days on the loom to weave in Kanchipuram, handwoven by artisan families whose generational skill keeps this heritage tradition alive.

The border becomes a procession in itself. Yazhi and Mayil motifs follow one another in sequence, each form clearly articulated in zari. The traditional selvedge remains visible as an important finishing detail, giving the saree the crisp, unmistakable character of a Kanchipuram silk.

The pallu is composed in three richly worked motif panels. Mayil and Yazhi forms repeat in processional arrangements, building layer upon layer of zari across the end piece. It is an elaborate pallu, yet the disciplined sequencing keeps it elegant rather than excessive.

A deeply traditional vintage-inspired silk for Navratri and Vijayadashami celebrations, Diwali gatherings, temple occasions, weddings and cultural gatherings.
