Royal Purple & Mango Orange Pure Silk Kancheepuram Varisaipet Saree with Mayil Chakram

Royal Purple & Mango Orange Pure Silk Kancheepuram Varisaipet Saree with Mayil Chakram

Royal purple silk meets a glowing mango-orange contrast in a Varisaipet composition that celebrates repetition, colour and the density of traditional zari work.

❖ Woven by hand in Kanchipuram over 16 days on the loom, a piece of a centuries-old weaving tradition, made with certified pure silk.

Across the purple body, Mayil Chakram motifs appear at measured intervals, alternating figurative and circular forms that bring small flashes of gold to the silk.

The border and pallu are where the weave becomes increasingly elaborate. Rows and rows of zari work gather together traditional Paisley, Mullai Moggu and Rudraksham motifs, each band adding another layer of ornament.

The orange pallu glows almost like burnished metal beneath the gold, giving the entire composition a ceremonial brilliance while the deep purple body keeps it grounded.

Current Look

Purple and orange are having a particularly resonant Kanchipuram moment. A recent celebrity Kanchipuram appearance paired a saturated purple body with orange contrast silk. This saree shares that striking colour dialogue while remaining entirely its own in weave, motif and Varisaipet construction.

For the celebrations ahead
Navaratri and Vijayadashami celebrations, Diwali and Deepavali gatherings, Karthigai Deepam, Margazhi concerts and temple gatherings, ceremonies and winter weddings.
