Mellow Manjal Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Butta Saree with Ivory Twin Mayil Zari Border

Mellow Manjal Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Butta Saree with Ivory Twin Mayil Zari Border

This is Manjal yellow at its gentlest, softened almost to the colour of early morning light and set beside warm ivory and pale gold. The restrained palette lets the handwoven motifs appear detailed without making the saree feel visually heavy.

❖ This piece took 16 days on the loom to weave in Kanchipuram, handwoven by artisan families whose generational skill keeps this heritage tradition alive.

Woven in the Butta tradition, the body is punctuated by beautifully detailed Kamalam zari medallions, their rounded floral geometry appearing at measured intervals across the mellow-yellow silk. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: Warm ivory provides a soft frame for an ornate gold-zari register of twin Mayil. The paired peacocks and surrounding floral work give the border richness while preserving the saree's pale, serene colour story.

Pallu: The pallu expands into ivory and pale gold with long traditional zari registers and richly worked figurative and floral sections, giving the otherwise mellow saree a more ceremonial finish.

Styling: Ivory silk is the quietest blouse choice; pale antique gold adds a little more formality. Pearl-and-gold jewellery and fresh jasmine work especially well with the soft yellow, leaving the Kamalam buttas and twin-Mayil border clearly visible.

Beautiful for Navratri daytime celebrations, Saraswati Puja, Diwali lunches, temple ceremonies, engagements, cultural gatherings and special occasions.

Slight color variations due to screen and lighting; daylight photos/videos available on request.

What makes this a Butta Kanjeevaram saree?
Its mellow-yellow body is punctuated by individual Kamalam zari buttas rather than an all-over continuous pattern. The spacing lets both the motif and silk colour remain clear.
What is distinctive about the Kamalam butta?
The motif is a detailed circular floral form woven in zari. Its small scale works particularly well against the quiet yellow body.
What appears in the border?
The warm ivory border contains paired Mayil motifs in gold zari, surrounded by ornamental floral detailing.
Can Idam Living design an ivory blouse for this saree?
Yes. Ivory would preserve the soft colour story beautifully, while pale antique gold is a slightly richer alternative.
Is this saree suitable for daytime functions?
Yes. Its mellow yellow and ivory palette is particularly suited to daytime festive occasions, ceremonies and cultural gatherings, while the ornate zari keeps it formal enough for evening use too.
