Manjal Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Varisaipet Saree with Deep Purple Border
Manjal Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Varisaipet Saree with Deep Purple Border
The colour of freshly ground manjal set against the purple of twilight, this Kanjivaram is all warmth and depth. Golden-yellow silk glows beneath a deep purple Varisaipet border with the cadence of old Kanchi ornament.
❖ This saree carries 16 days of loom work behind it, handwoven in Kanchipuram by artisan families continuing a generations-old craft.

The Varisaipet border builds colour and detail in successive woven rows, like the stepped rhythm of a temple corridor. Scattered gold paisley Kalam buttas give the yellow body delicate points of light, while the deep purple contrast gathers the eye toward the elaborate border. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: Deep purple beneath tiered antique-gold Varisaipet bands, with Mayil Kann details, Thazhampoo Reku points, Rudraksham patterns and stylised woven peacocks along the lower register.
Pallu: A deep purple pallu with closely ordered gold lines, fine geometric grid-like detail, chakra-inspired circular accents and broad woven peacock registers arranged in layered bands.
Styling: A deep-purple raw-silk blouse is a natural companion; a copper-toned blouse would echo the slim warm edge. Pair with antique temple earrings and neatly gathered hair. The vivid Manjal body reads beautifully at festive pujas, classical dance evenings and family celebrations.
