Lotus Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Korvai Saree with Ivory and Temple Green Rettapet Border

Lotus Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Korvai Saree with Ivory and Temple Green Rettapet Border

Lotus pink, cool ivory and temple green meet with an unusual softness in this layered Korvai. Rather than relying on a sharp two-colour contrast, the ivory creates a luminous pause between the mellow pink body and the deep green border.

❖ 20 days on the loom, handwoven in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu by artisan weaver families. Every purchase supports their village and this centuries-old tradition.

The Korvai construction defines the contrasting sections while allowing the pink, ivory and green to remain exceptionally smooth in transition. It is a gentler interpretation of contrast Kanchipuram weaving, with the stronger structure concentrated toward the border. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 20 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: The one-of-a-kind border moves from ivory into temple green and uses finely ordered Vanki-pattern zari detailing to create a Rettapet character through layered registers. The restraint of the gold work is part of its appeal.

Pallu: A smooth temple-green Seer pallu continues the calm character of the saree, using measured vertical zari lines rather than an extremely dense ornamental field.

Styling: Temple green makes the most grounded blouse pairing; ivory gives the saree a quieter modern finish. Keep jewellery fine and predominantly gold, and allow the pallu to fall more openly so the Seer lines remain uninterrupted.

A graceful choice for daytime Navratri gatherings, Diwali lunches, engagements, temple visits, classical programs, family ceremonies and special occasions.

Slight color variations due to screen and lighting; daylight photos/videos available on request.

What makes this a Korvai saree?
The contrasting colour sections are structurally defined in the Korvai tradition. Here the transition is softened by an ivory section between lotus pink and temple green.
Why is the border described as having Rettapet detailing?
Korvai remains the primary construction. The border itself uses layered registers and Vanki-pattern zari that give it a Rettapet character as a secondary border detail.
What makes the colour combination unusual?
The ivory band creates a visual pause between mellow lotus pink and deep temple green, making the three-colour progression calm rather than sharply contrasting.
What blouse would suit this saree?
Temple green creates the strongest traditional pairing, while ivory keeps the palette light and restrained. Idam Living can design the blouse around either colour.
Does a Korvai saree take longer to weave?
Korvai involves a structurally defined contrasting body and border. For this product we use approximately 20 active loom days as the weaving-time reference, separate from dyeing, threading and finishing.
