The Paalum Pazhamum body is a multicolour check weave, with lotus pink crossed by charcoal black and softer mauve-grey. Gold Kamalam and peacock buttas appear among selected squares, like small points of ornament placed on a silk chessboard. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. Border: A narrow zari edge gives the checked body a discreet gold line instead of a broad contrast band. The treatment keeps the unusual pink-and-black geometry crisp and modern.
