A classic Butta composition defines this Kanjivaram saree, woven in pure mulberry silk, with little gold peacock buttas placed at unhurried intervals across the bright green body. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. Read our story.

Border: A plum-purple border generously woven in gold, with peacock shapes and winding botanical motifs between measured zari stripes and small touches of brick-red thread.

Pallu: A deep plum-purple pallu with orderly stripes, dense zari work and a large ornamental band.

Styling: Keep the blouse deep plum with a clean neckline, or choose a matching kili-pachai silk blouse with thin plum piping. Traditional gold jhumkas are particularly lovely with this green. It suits Deepavali celebrations, Karthigai Deepam get-togethers, weddings and early-January harvest-season gatherings.
