Kesari Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Butta Saree with Paimadi Kattam Body and Vadamalli Border
Kesari Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Butta Saree with Paimadi Kattam Body and Vadamalli Border
Kesari orange gives this saree a warm, saturated body, but the colour story becomes more playful at the edge. Vadamalli pink, muted olive green and antique-gold accents gather in the border and pallu, giving the saree the cheerful visual rhythm of a vintage festive Kanchi.

Woven as a Butta Kanchipuram, the body is defined by its paimadi kattam texture, creating a checked surface beneath the zari details. The body remains the visual highlight, while the border shifts into a more colourful geometric treatment. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 14 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A checkered border introduces Vadamalli pink and muted olive green, with antique-gold zari and detailed maanga work adding definition. The colourful border plays against the Kesari body without taking away from the paimadi kattam texture.
Pallu: The pallu becomes richer and more graphic, with arrays of thazampoo reku and maanga pet layered into the Vadamalli and olive-green colour field.
Styling: Let the bright body do most of the work. A Vadamalli-pink or deep olive blouse will echo the border beautifully, while matte temple gold, small jhumkas and a low braid keep the styling grounded. For a more contemporary look, choose a plain blouse and leave the pallu open.
Occasions: A lively choice for Navratri, Dussehra, Deepavali, temple festivals, family ceremonies, wedding lunches and festive cultural gatherings.
