Kanakambaram Orange & Royal Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Rettapet Zari Kattam Saree
Kanakambaram Orange & Royal Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Rettapet Zari Kattam Saree
The unmistakable brightness of Kanakambaram flowers against the deep violet of a Kanchipuram temple evening. This extraordinary orange-and-purple Kanjeevaram is a celebration of traditional colour at its most expressive, carrying the warmth and vitality for which South Indian silks are so dearly loved.

The vibrant orange body is brought to life by an intricate Zari Kattam weave. Fine intersecting zari lines form a luminous checked surface, lending movement and brilliance to the silk without overwhelming its glorious colour. The result is a saree that appears almost illuminated from within.
The contrast royal-purple Rettapet border gives the composition its stately definition. Traditional Diamond Petti and Rudraksham arrangements are worked into the double-border design, their intricate gold zari gleaming against the saturated purple silk.
The pallu is richly and densely woven, its ornate floral zari motifs forming a magnificent field of gold. Tiny repetitive details and beautifully structured ornamental bands demonstrate the wonderful precision of the Kanchipuram loom.
There is something wonderfully joyous about this colour pairing: brilliant orange, regal purple and the glow of antique gold. A true statement Kanjivaram, yet one that remains deeply rooted in the visual language of its weaving tradition.
Styling note: Particularly beautiful with a deep-purple blouse and traditional temple jewellery. An expressive choice for Diwali celebrations, festive gatherings and wedding occasions.
A Colour Story in the Spotlight
Orange and purple Kanchipuram colour-blocking has recently returned to the spotlight in a saree worn by Rashmika Mandanna. This saree explores the same traditional colour conversation in its own distinct way: a brilliant orange body and contrasting royal-purple Rettapet border.
