Ivory & Rani Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Varisaipet Saree with Mayil Chakram Buttas and Ornate Zari Pallu
Ivory & Rani Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Varisaipet Saree with Mayil Chakram Buttas and Ornate Zari Pallu
Ivory silk with the gentle luminosity of a polished conch shell, brought to life by little touches of colour. This beautiful Kancheepuram Varisaipet carries an unusually graceful composition, its soft, open body punctuated by precisely positioned silk-thread buttas in bottle green, pink and deeper contrasting tones. The small Mayil Chakram motifs bring just enough ornament to the ivory field, allowing each individual motif to be admired.
❖ This saree carries 16 days of loom work behind it, handwoven in Kanchipuram by artisan families continuing a generations-old craft.

The quietness of the body gives way to a striking rani-pink border, rich with deep magenta undertones and gleaming gold zari. A beautifully constructed sequence of ornamental panels runs along the border, where fine silk-thread detailing and traditional Pattu Mayil Kann elements bring additional depth and definition.
The pallu is a celebration of the Kanchipuram loom. Paisleys, peacocks and delicate chevrons are brought together in an extraordinarily intricate arrangement of dense zari weaving. The brilliance of the gold against the saturated pink is particularly beautiful, and the richness of the pallu creates a wonderful counterpoint to the serene ivory body.
A saree that moves between gentleness and grandeur with ease. Every small silk-thread butta, every measured border and every ornamental line reflects the enduring artistry of Kanchipuram weaving.
Styling note: Pair with a fitted rani-pink silk blouse or an ivory blouse with delicate gold detailing. A beautiful choice for Navratri pujas, Diwali gatherings, temple ceremonies and family celebrations.
