Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Vairaoosi Saree with Ganga Jamuna Vanasringaram Borders
An ivory silk reminiscent of morning light on Kanchipuram temple stone, edged on one side by leaf green and river blue and on the other by kathiripoo violet and the glow of copper at sunset.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree spent roughly 20 active days on the loom, in addition to dyeing, threading and finishing.

Vairaoosi is the language of fine, needle-like zari lines. Across the ivory field, their measured gleam feels especially luminous beside the assertive Ganga-Jamuna treatment, where the two borders speak in deliberately different colour families. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 20 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: Ganga-Jamuna contrast borders: leaf green and deep blue on one side, kathiripoo violet and copper-orange on the other, carrying broad gold-toned Vanasringaram foliage and figurative zari bands.
Pallu: A richly woven violet pallu, with a closely set geometric gold-toned zari grid, fine ornamental side registers and a broad copper-orange and gold panel of traditional figurative motifs.
Styling: Pair the ivory field with a jewel-blue blouse for a crisp contrast or a muted kathiripoo-purple blouse to echo the more dramatic border. Small antique jhumkas, a neatly pinned pallu and a low bun are enough; the alternating green-blue and violet-copper borders provide their own jewellery-like accents.
