Golden Mustard & Sandalwood Ivory Thazampoo Reku Korvai Kanchipuram Silk Saree

Golden Mustard & Sandalwood Ivory Thazampoo Reku Korvai Kanchipuram Silk Saree

There is a particular golden light that belongs to Kanchipuram: marigold garlands, freshly ground turmeric and the afternoon sun settling across ancient temple courtyards. This handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram saree holds that warmth in golden mustard silk, set against soft sandalwood ivory in a dramatic Thazampoo Reku Korvai design.

❖ 20 days of loom work went into this saree, handwoven in Kanchipuram by artisan families who have practised the craft for generations, using certified pure silk.

Body and border woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom is the heart of Korvai weaving. Here, sharply tapered Thazampoo Reku points move between golden mustard and sandalwood ivory, recalling the petals of the fragrant screwpine flower and the tiered silhouettes of South Indian temple gopurams. A saree of this type represents approximately 20 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.

Border: Elongated sandalwood ivory forms rise and fall against golden mustard silk in a rhythm of pointed Thazampoo Reku edges, joined through traditional Korvai interlocking. Colour and geometry carry the design, with no heavy ornament. Explore the Korvai collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.

Pallu: A golden mustard pallu continues the design, with elongated sandalwood ivory woven forms and delicate vertical lines giving a measured, graceful rhythm across the golden field.

Styling: A sandalwood ivory silk blouse keeps the look understated, while deep forest green adds an earthy contrast and antique gold or muted bronze gives a warmer ceremonial feel. Finish with temple jhumkas, a kasu mala or pearls. A fine choice for temple visits, Karthigai Deepam, Margazhi gatherings, weddings and Pongal and Sankranti celebrations.

Slight color variations due to screen and lighting; daylight photos/videos available on request.

What is Thazampoo Reku in a Kanchipuram saree?

What are the colours of this saree?
The saree combines rich golden mustard, reminiscent of marigold garlands and turmeric, with a gentle sandalwood ivory carrying warm champagne undertones.
Does this Kanchipuram saree include a blouse piece?
Yes. Every Idam Living Kanchipuram saree includes a 0.8 m running blouse piece within the overall 6.3 m length. Please refer to the product images for the blouse piece colour and design.
