Deep Violet Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Vairaoosi Saree with Peacock Motif
Deep Violet Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Vairaoosi Saree with Peacock Motif
Violet with the depth of a dusky Kanchipuram sky, enriched by a lustrous silk finish and fine Vairaoosi lines that appear like slender, measured rays. A golden peacock rests near the border, its flowing feathers bringing a graceful movement to the jewel-toned body.
❖ Woven by hand in Kanchipuram over 20 days on the loom — a piece of a centuries-old weaving tradition, made with certified pure silk.

The Vairaoosi tradition draws slender, closely ordered lines through the silk. Rich violet silk showing fine Vairaoosi stripes and an ornate gold-toned peacock with a sweeping tail near the lower edge. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 20 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A narrow, warm rust-orange selvedge frames the violet, above a traditional zari band enriched with repeating ornamental forms.
Pallu: Luminous zari worked into a close lattice grid, contrasting its geometric precision against the fluid peacock motif.
Styling: Try a rust-orange or soft antique-gold contrast blouse with a narrow neckline and just a restrained embroidered outline at the cuffs. Gold jhumkas and a low twist of hair make a beautiful companion, without competing with the peacock detail.
Slight color variations due to screen and lighting; daylight photos/videos available on request.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m running blouse piece. See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
