Deep Espresso Brown Lightweight Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Antique Gold Zari Border
Deep Espresso Brown Lightweight Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Antique Gold Zari Border
Almost black-coffee in its depth, this lightweight Kanchipuram catches light through fine gold lines and quietly spaced zari motifs. The broad antique-gold border gives the dark silk a strong ceremonial frame, while the richly woven pallu brings a deeper glow when the saree is draped over the shoulder.
❖ Twenty-one days on the loom in Kanchipuram, woven in certified pure silk by artisan families who have practised this craft for generations.

Woven as a Lightweight Kanchipuram, the dark brown body carries fine linear zari work with petite motifs placed across the silk, allowing the gold to appear gradually rather than overwhelm the ground. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 21 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A broad antique-gold zari border layers repeating stylised floral medallions with smaller geometric registers. A dark green edge gives the brown and gold a quiet contrast.
Pallu: The pallu opens into a dense antique-gold zari field with fine geometric texture, framed by long ornamental floral registers. Against the espresso-brown silk it reads warm, deep and ceremonial.
Styling: Pair it with antique gold, deep green or tonal brown at the blouse, then keep jewellery sculptural rather than excessive. A centre-parted low bun and traditional earrings allow the gold border to frame the face while the dark silk remains calm and architectural.
Well suited to Navratri and Dussehra gatherings, Diwali dinners, temple events, wedding festivities, receptions, classical programs and special occasions.
Slight color variations due to screen and lighting; daylight photos/videos available on request.
