Coral Orange and Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Kanchi Kattam Saree with Deep Violet Pallu
Coral Orange and Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Kanchi Kattam Saree with Deep Violet Pallu
A flash of Kesari orange against the softness of ivory, this Kanchi Kattam saree recalls temple flowers set out against pale stone. Its generous silk checks are unexpectedly modern in scale, while the deep violet contrast gives them the confident colour language of Kanchipuram.
❖ This piece took 28 days on the loom to weave in Kanchipuram — handwoven by artisan families whose generational skill keeps this heritage tradition alive.

The Kanchi Kattam body arranges orange, creamy ivory and pale coral-pink in broad regular squares. The changing silk colours create airy intervals between the stronger orange blocks, while small pointed breaks mark the passage into the darker edge. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 28 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree.
Border: A deep violet border, edged with restrained fine lines, frames the coral-and-ivory squares. A pale, pointed transition between the checks and violet recalls the sharp silhouette of temple gopuram ornament without assigning a specific named border construction.
Pallu: The rich violet pallu is crossed by slim gold-toned parallel lines and one broad golden-yellow stripe, providing a long, architectural counterpoint to the open checkerboard body.
Styling: Pair this with a neatly tailored ivory blouse for quiet clarity or a deep violet blouse for stronger contrast. Small gold jhumkas, a low bun and a single flower will feel especially appropriate for festive family gatherings.
A spirited choice for Diwali lunches, pre-wedding gatherings and autumn cultural celebrations.
