Cocoa Rose Brown and Mulberry Handwoven Lightweight Pure Silk KanchiPattu Saree

Cocoa Rose Brown and Mulberry Handwoven Lightweight Pure Silk KanchiPattu Saree

The body is a nuanced cocoa-brown touched with rose, the colour of sun-warmed red earth after dusk, with mauve shadows appearing along the folds. A scattering of dainty gold-zari buttas lends just enough ornament to the elegant, lightweight silk.

A deep mulberry-plum contrast border is woven with traditional gold-zari floral and geometric bands. Its purple-red depth gently sharpens the warmth of the dusty rose-brown body.

The grand traditional Seer pallu is a luminous mauve-to-mulberry plum, crossed by fine parallel gold-zari seer lines and enriched with traditional zari ornament.

Woven by hand in a lighter, fluid pure silk Kanchipuram construction, this saree preserves the expressive traditional handwoven zari vocabulary of Kanchipuram. The lighter feel makes the drape especially wearable while the silk retains its characteristic lustre and poise.

Styling: Choose a mulberry, old-rose or antique-gold brocade silk blouse; a tailored elbow-sleeved blouse and a single gold necklace are enough.

Wear it to: Margazhi concerts, temple visits, festive dinner gatherings, intimate weddings and elegant family celebrations.
