Naval Pazham Deep Plum gives this handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram the dark richness of ripe jamun and black-cherry skin. The silk moves toward espresso-plum through the deepest folds, then opens into a richer burgundy-plum where light reaches the surface, creating a red-purple depth that is distinctly darker than Kathiripoo.

The body is arranged in a strong classic-gold Zari Kattam, with intersecting zari lines creating a measured architectural field across the dark silk. Chakram-style round medallions alternate with Annam bird buttas inside the checked structure, giving the body the disciplined rhythm associated with older Kanchipuram compositions.

Border: A broad field of classic gold anchors the lower edge, finished with a repeated Yaanai procession register. Fine geometric Reku-style lines frame the figured band, while smaller ornamental edging keeps the transition crisp. Against the Naval Pazham silk, the gold has the warmth of aged temple brass under lamplight.

Mundhanai: The pallu becomes substantially more elaborate. Dense classic-gold latticework opens across the dark plum field, framed by richly worked figurative panels carrying Yaanai elements and scrolling floral vines. Multiple narrow geometric zari bands complete the composition, giving the mundhanai the feeling of carved temple panels translated into silk.

Styling: A tonal Naval Pazham blouse creates a deep uninterrupted composition, while antique gold brings out the warmth of the border and mundhanai. Temple jewellery works naturally with the Yaanai registers. For contrast, a restrained deep-green blouse or emerald accent can bring an old-Kanchi note without disturbing the dark plum and gold palette.
