Maragatham Green gives this handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram the saturated depth of polished emerald and fresh betel leaf under warm temple light. Exceptionally fine classic-gold Zari Kattam traces the body with a restrained architectural grid, while the contrast moves into deep Paaku Brown, an earthy betel-nut shade with a faint aubergine-maroon undertone.

The body remains deliberately structured rather than heavily ornamented. Fine zari lines cross the Maragatham silk in a delicate Kattam, allowing the green to remain the dominant surface. Near the border, large stylised leaf buttas rise against the Paaku ground like ceremonial foliage, creating a stronger transition into the ornamental lower registers.

Border: The Paaku Brown contrast is richly articulated through layered geometric Reku-style zari bands, floral vines, small medallion forms and ornamental leaf edging. Classic gold dominates the lower border, giving the deep brown silk the warmth of gilded carving against aged temple wood.

Mundhanai: The pallu becomes dramatically more elaborate. A dense classic-gold diamond lattice spreads across the Paaku field, framed by long vertical ornamental bands filled with floral medallions, geometric detailing and leaf-like edging. A broad luminous terminal register gives the pallu the appearance of carved gilded panels across an old South Indian temple doorway.

Styling: A Paaku Brown blouse gives the strongest continuation of the border and mundhanai, while Maragatham Green creates a quieter tonal approach. Antique-gold jewellery works naturally with the dense zari. A restrained emerald, garnet or deep-brown accent, jasmine flowers and a muted gold or Paaku-toned clutch will keep the palette cohesive.
