Red and Magenta Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Vairaoosi Body and Varisaipet Border

For the Edison NJ Diwali Puja, this red and magenta Kanchipuram silk is woven with the devotional intensity that only pure silk and unbroken zari craftsmanship can produce. The body is woven in deep orange-red pure mulberry silk with fine Vairaoosi zari lines running continuously across the length, scattered between gold Kamalam butta placed in quiet rhythm. Vairaoosi refers to fine needle-like zari lines woven continuously across the body, creating a delicate all-over shimmer across the silk breadth.

The deep orange-red silk body carries the warmth of ceremonial red, the continuous Vairaoosi zari lines catching light in a fine, unbroken shimmer as the saree moves. Scattered Kamalam butta — the lotus motif — anchor the all-over zari shimmer with discrete woven punctuation.

The wide magenta border is built in layered horizontal bands — a posh vaanam arrangement of multiple gold zari stripes alternating with magenta silk, creating a border of considerable visual weight.
