20 Days on Loom
Pure Mulberry Silk
Handwoven in Kanchipuram
Woven in the Vairaoosi tradition, the body is marked by fine, needle-like parallel lines. Close-set Vairaoosi lines form the textured cinnamon-brown field, with restrained Kamalam buttas in a repeated procession. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 20 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border Arched peacock figures and floral panels appear in gold-toned zari, framed by warm copper-gold bands and a distinct green selvedge.
Pallu An elaborate, graduated lattice of closely worked zari geometry, enriched with peacock and ornamental floral registers.
Styling Choose a dark emerald blouse to echo the green selvedge, with a restrained gold necklace and a neatly pleated front drape. This earthy palette is particularly beautiful for autumn weddings and temple gatherings.
