Warm Ivory gives this pure silk Kanjeevaram saree an exceptionally quiet beginning. The body has the soft creamy cast of natural ivory rather than a stark white, interrupted only by small silk-thread buttas in deep green and raspberry-maroon. A narrow gold zari border keeps the frame deliberately restrained, allowing the colour transformation at the pallu to become the defining moment of the saree.

Body, Border and Pallu: The buttas are woven in coloured silk thread rather than relying on gold zari for their presence — small green and raspberry-maroon motifs alternate across generous expanses of ivory silk, bringing colour to the body without disturbing its simplicity, with the natural lustre of the mulberry silk remaining clearly visible between each motif. The pallu changes the composition completely: traditional Paalum Pazhamum colour blocks appear in mustard yellow, deep green, maroon, raspberry, orange, olive and darker earthy tones, arranged as a vibrant checked field, with gold zari motifs sitting within the individual blocks to give the checks a jewel-like rhythm.
