This is a confirmed Butta composition in pure mulberry silk, with individually woven Kamalam, or lotus, motifs placed at measured intervals across the silk, with small circular zari forms appearing between them. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 8 to 10 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Body, Border and Pallu: The body follows the Butta tradition with individually woven Kamalam buttas creating a quiet rhythm without covering the body in gold — Kamalam belongs to the established Kanchipuram motif vocabulary, and its compact lotus form works especially well here because the surrounding Turmeric Yellow silk remains clearly visible. The border carries the strongest ornamental moment: against the deep green ground, large gold zari medallions contain paired Mayil, or peacocks, facing inward around a central floral form, surrounded by smaller floral, leaf and geometric zari registers, with narrow orange lines woven between the darker green bands. The pallu continues into deep green and opens into long gold zari registers with larger woven motifs distributed through the field.
