Rich Magenta Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Rettapet and Peacock Border
Rich Magenta Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Rettapet and Peacock Border
A rich magenta Kancheepuram saree is highlighted by traditional rettapet lines. Twin parallel border lines create a balanced layered edge, paired here with finely spaced gold buttas across the body. Each saree takes six days on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine. Handwoven by artisan families in Kunnam village, near Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu — read our story.
The rich magenta body is woven in pure mulberry silk, its vivid tone setting off the gold buttas beneath the rettapet lines — a hallmark of Kanchipuram ceremonial silks.
An ornate peacock zari border beautifully frames the silk, its pallu carrying the same peacock zari work for classic craftsmanship.
This saree suits weddings and celebratory occasions. Pair with a gold or emerald blouse, and finish the look with temple jewellery.
