Raspberry Pink and Jasmine Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Gold Korvai Peacock Border
Raspberry Pink and Jasmine Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Gold Korvai Peacock Border
A daughter's Seemantham surrounded by three generations of women calls for a saree with real weight and presence, and this raspberry pink silk with its jasmine ivory tissue border was made for exactly that kind of afternoon. Korvai construction means the body and border are woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom, giving the border a raised, sculptural quality you can feel under your fingers. It took 18 days on the loom to complete — you can read our story to see how a saree like this comes together, thread by thread, in Kunnam village.
The raspberry pink body is woven in pure mulberry silk, carrying a deep, saturated tone that photographs beautifully in both daylight and indoor lighting, with small gold peacock motifs scattered discreetly across the silk. Explore more of our Korvai sarees if this weave style speaks to you.
The border is where the korvai technique truly shows itself — a jasmine ivory tissue band with a fine metallic sheen, woven through with gold zari and detailed peacock and floral work, interlocked seamlessly with the raspberry pink body rather than simply printed or embroidered on. The pallu continues the same jasmine ivory tissue and gold density, anchoring the drape with real substance. Browse our full pure silk Kanchipuram collection for coordinating pieces.
This saree pairs naturally with antique gold or temple jewellery, and suits milestone family occasions, receptions, or any event where you want the saree itself to carry the room.
