This is a confirmed Butta composition in pure mulberry silk, with slender Mullai Moggu, or jasmine-bud, motifs placed at generous intervals, reduced to an exceptionally elongated gold zari form with very little additional ornament around each one. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 8 to 10 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Body, Border and Pallu: The body follows the Butta tradition with slender Mullai Moggu motifs placed at generous intervals through the silk, allowing the dark silk ground to remain almost uninterrupted and giving each small zari mark remarkable clarity. The border is deliberately narrow, built from fine gold zari lines and a saturated orange silk edge rather than a broad ornamental band. The pallu then reverses the balance of the saree, opening completely into vivid orange with fine zari striping and repeated slender motifs — because the pallu is not densely filled with zari, the contrast comes primarily from colour rather than metallic weight. Styling: Style it with the same sense of restraint. A deep aubergine or Kanchana Brownish Purple blouse keeps the body tonal, while orange creates a sharper traditional counterpoint.
